FOUNDING STORY
In Memory Of Late Kudrat Kaur
(15.02.2006 – 12.12.2019)
Kudrat Welfare Trust was born from lived experience — from love, loss, reflection, and a conscious decision to transform grief into service.
In December 2019, Kudrat Kaur, a bright, gentle, and compassionate child, lost her life when the stationary car she was in with her father, Mr. Gaganpreet Singh Ahluwalia, was hit from behind by a rash vehicle at a red traffic signal in Mohali, Punjab. The sudden loss left an irreplaceable void and reshaped life forever for her family.
In the months that followed, grief was accompanied by deep introspection and personal challenges. Amid this period emerged a guiding principle: when life takes away someone irreplaceable, the only meaningful way to honour them is to ensure that their light continues to serve others.
Guided by this resolve, and supported by friends, well-wishers, and members of the community who believed in compassion-driven action, Mr. Gaganpreet Singh Ahluwalia founded Kudrat Welfare Trust in December 2022 as a government-registered public charitable organisation.
The Trust stands today as a commitment to:
- Stand beside individuals in times of vulnerability
- Act where help is needed most
- Transform personal loss into collective good
Rooted in lived experience, the Trust is guided not by tragedy, but by responsibility, conscience, and service to humanity. Every action undertaken reflects a resolve to translate grief into meaningful, sustainable service for society.
LEADERSHIP MESSAGES
Message from the Chairman
Kudrat Welfare Trust did not begin as an organisation — it began as a responsibility.
Born from personal loss, it is guided by a commitment to serve with fairness, compassion, and ethical responsibility. Our focus is not on recognition or scale, but on consistently standing with individuals and communities when support is needed most.
Every initiative undertaken reflects the belief that service, when carried out with sincerity and accountability, has the power to restore hope, dignity, and trust.
I invite you to join us in this journey — through service, partnership, or support — as we work together to ensure that humanity responds when life calls for help.
— Gaganpreet Singh Ahluwalia
